The Rising Stars Program is a bridge program to take skaters from Learn to Skate into Club Skating. It is designed to teach skating skills at a faster pace in a small-group lesson environment. Participants are still beginner skaters who have passed some or all of the upper levels of Learn to Skate and are looking to become more involved in the sport of figure skating. Working together on skills, creating friendships, and keeping it affordable for families is the real magic behind the Rising Stars Program. Participants also begin their introduction to U.S. Figure Skating Skating Skills — the foundational curriculum for club and competitive skating development.
The Rising Stars Program offers small-group classes for skaters who have completed Basic 4. Lessons are during club ice time. The program is an excellent opportunity for committed skaters to advance further and get involved in the club. If you are interested, speak with your LTS instructor or the LTS Director.
Rising Stars is generally offered on Saturdays, and sometimes Thursdays if there is enough demand, during club ice. Participants receive instruction from a coach for 30 minutes and then have the opportunity to practice for the remainder of the session. Each session is six weeks long. Skaters can enroll in up to four sessions of Rising Stars, after which they are expected to transition into club skating.
Rising Stars 2026/2027 session dates:
- Session 1: September 10–October 17, 2026
- Session 2: October 22–November 28, 2026
- Session 3: December 3, 2026–January 14, 2027
- Session 4: January 16–February 25, 2027
Rising Stars is by invitation only.
Cost: Rising Stars is priced at the same rate as the ice package for that day, plus a coaching fee. The coaching fee is $20 for Session 1 and $40 for Sessions 2, 3, and 4. For a five-week session, the coaching fee is prorated to 5/6 of the six-week fee.
Steps:
- Receive an invitation to join Rising Stars, typically from your LTS instructor or the LTS Director.
- Become a member of the club and select the Home Club Introductory Member option if it applies to you.
- Purchase a Rising Stars session from the Store.
- Get connected with the club president to learn what to expect and how to get the most out of the program.
